Binghamton High School senior Kiana Backus, along with current SUNY Broome student and 2024 Binghamton High School graduate Shawn Gibson, have committed to join SUNY Broome’s inaugural competitive cheer program in a special signing ceremony on March 31.

Kiana and Shawn are two of seven local students who will be joining up to both study at SUNY Broome in the fall and make up SUNY Broome’s first cheer team.
The Binghamton City School District congratulates Kiana and Shawn on their accomplishments and wishes them the best as they represent their alma mater at the collegiate level!
