The Binghamton City School District Board of Education President is being highlighted with a special award for his work in helping to create a better society here in the district and beyond!
BCSD Board of Education President Steve Seepersaud was honored October 24 with the prestigious President's Award for Staff Excellence in Community Engagement at the annual Binghamton University Excellence Awards Dinner. According to the University, the award recognizes staff of Binghamton University who exemplify commitment to community engagement that contributes to meaningful change.
In addition to his all the work he has done over his five years of service on the BCSD Board of Education, Steve, who works at BU as the University's Advancement Communications Manager, served as the chair of the Board of Directors for Southern Tier chapter of the American Red Cross. He has been a major proponent of the life-saving efforts the American Red Cross provides, including blood donations, disaster relief, safety trainings, and certifications. Steve had helped organize numerous on-campus events to benefit the Red Cross, including blood donation drives that have allowed university students, faculty, and staff to pitch in for the greater good.
