The first high school competitive dance team from our area to compete in the United States Tournament of Dance had a huge weekend! The Central New York Championship of USTD took place May 31-June 2 at the Anderson Center on the Binghamton University campus, and it served as the experience of a lifetime for the Binghamton High School Competitive Dance Team.
While all the other teams at the competition were from private studios in the Southern Tier, the Binghamton High School Competitive Dance team features dancers of all backgrounds -- both trained and untrained, as well as seasoned dancers and those relatively new to the art.
There were over 580 entries to the CNY Championship and Binghamton High Schools three dances that were sent to competition scored extremely well.
The performance from the Binghamton Baddies received a special award for being Fabulous and Fierce, got a High Point Gold, first in their category, and second place Overall High Scoring for the Large Group 16-19 classification. The following dancers were in that dance:
