The Binghamton City School District, in partnership with the Binghamton City Schools Foundation, is pleased to host basketball legend Chris Herren for a presentation on addiction on Thursday, March 9. The presentation is free and open to the community.
Chris Herren, a basketball legend from Fall River, Massachusetts, was an All-American, broke
scoring records and was recruited by the nation’s top colleges. Herren realized his lifelong dream of playing in the NBA before losing his career and almost his family to the disease of addiction.
Alcohol and drug-free since August 1, 2008, Chris has spoken to over one million students nationwide with the goal of sparking honest discussions and making a positive difference in their lives. Through inspiring presentations, Herren empowers the audience and guides students to rethink how we look at the disease of addiction, from the last day to the first.
The community presentation will take place at 6 p.m. at East Middle School, located at 167 Frederick St., Binghamton. We recommend arriving early, as seats will be limited. Herren will also present to students during the school day.
