Many of our students take part in programs at Broome-Tioga BOCES continue on to trade school/college and to the career of their choice. Students in these programs attend Binghamton High School for one-half of the school day, and travel by bus, to and from the BOCES campus on Glenwood Road for the remaining one-half of the school day.
BHS senior Ithier Lopez has been in the BOCES video production program and shares how the knowledge here has gained there ties into his love for content creation.

Q: How did you find out that the BOCES Video Production program was an option for you, and what made you want to be a part of it?
Ithier: During my sophomore year, my guidance counselor reached out to me and told me that Broome-Tioga BOCES has a program that's good for credits. One day, I went to go down to see her and she gave me a list of what BOCES has. Video production really stood out to me. I love the way the concept works for video production. I've always wanted to create content, so I chose that.
Q: How cool is it for you to be able to get this kind of experience that others might not receive until college, while you're still in high school?
Ithier: It's really amazing and I love it because the teacher (Broome-Tioga BOCES Video Production Teacher Amy Hogan) gives us a lot of opportunities to experience really difficult things. Even though it's difficult, she makes it look easy. It's really awesome how she gives us the opportunity to do that type of stuff.
Q: As you approach graduation, how do you feel the skills you're gaining in this program will help you as you move forward in life?
Ithier: After I graduate, I want to go to college and I do want to look for a similar activity to video production. I learned a lot of skills from here and I really feel like video production can help me with that. It can help me financially and it could also take me other places in the future. I've been doing it for basically two years now. I'm really serious about video production and I would love to take it into college to proceed with it more.
