BCSD to reopen remotely in September

BCSD to reopen remotely in September
Posted on 08/19/2020
At the Aug. 18 Board of Education meeting, the Binghamton City School District Board of Education adopted a change to the school calendar, moving all Superintendents Conference Days to the first full week in September. The first day of student instruction will be Monday, Sept. 14, beginning with full remote instruction for all students.

The district has determined that delaying in-person, hybrid instruction until Monday, Oct. 5 is in the best interest of the health and safety of our students, their families and our employees. This decision was based on several factors, including the changes in the community with the return of Binghamton University students, many traveling from around the state and country, the influx of new BCSD students at the start of the school year who, also, often come from around the state and country, and the desire to establish protocols with faculty and staff prior to instituting them with students in our school buildings.

We appreciate your support and patience as we work to ensure the safety of our faculty and students while maintaining a strong focus on effective teaching and learning.
